Course Description
This 3-day medical course is designed for the individual non-medical personnel who seek expanded first aid skills due to work requirements, recreation activities, or personal interests. This course is designed with the medical beginner in mind utilizing the crawl, walk, then run method of instruction coupled with life-like, high fidelity simulation.
- Our combat experienced, professional medical instructor staff consists of former
Medics/Navy Corpsmen and SOF medical providers to ensure relevancy of training and
increased student hands-on experience.
Subjects Covered
Throughout the entire course, heavy emphasis is placed on maximizing hands-on practical application opportunities to increase your ability to properly and confidently perform advanced first aid.
As you progress through the course you will learn bloodborne pathogen exposure risks, medical system integration, environment specific first aid preparation, medical vs. trauma patient management, combat mindset and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) protocols and procedures. You will complete hands-on skill stations in patient assessment, hemorrhage control, airway management, musculoskeletal injuries, shock management, patient lifts and carries, casualty collection/triage procedures and use of individual first aid kits (IFAK) and medical bags.
